The Shakespeare Collection 2
Snub Cube - Much Ado About Nothing SOLD
The structure for this bowl is formed from polygons cut from packaging card. These are glued together and then overlaid with layers of redundant office paper and PVA glue. The first layers shape the bowl as the solid shifts and moves under the opposing forces of the drying paper. Subsequent layers add strength and solidity. The outside of the bowl has only one layer of paper to keep the structure of the polygons and the bowl edge is clearly defined. The outside is then varnished with layers of lemon shellac for a crisp, high gloss finish. Inside the bowls are collaged with pages from an old copy (in very bad condition) of The Complete Works of Shakespeare which is then protected with two layers of matt acrylic varnish.
